The controller says 416 but the temp is actually 307. If you try to cook at any higher temp, you need to set the grill so high the controller thinks the grill exceeds 500 and shuts down. Even though they had a record of the cook at 416 for 4 hours (when cooking a brisket) and they should know that a brisket cooked for 4 hours at that temperature would be inedible, they insisted the grill was fine. In effect, they were calling me a liar and refused to do anything about it. I paid for a new thermocouple myself and replaced it to no effect. DON'T BUY THIS GRILL!
